Autumn 2021 Update
Here at the Distillery we are loving the transition into Autumn; beautiful sunny days and crisp mornings. There’s a lot going on at the Distillery so let’s crack on with all our news.
First news item is a rare double news item.
Before we go public, we’d like to initially invite you as a member of the Big River Family to secure a spot at our first ticketed event; a launch on Mother’s Day of our latest Distillery Door Release; A Pink Gin - or as we like to think of it, A Rosé Gin.
Mum’s are especially welcome. However, you don’t have to be a mum or bring your mum to attend. We’d love to see as many of our Big River Family there as possible. Tickets are $40 and for that you’ll receive a tasting paddle including our new pink gin, a platter to share and an additional specially curated cocktail featuring our new pink gin. Space is limited to 2 seatings of 16 people only and can be booked here.
So yes, we’ve just released a pink gin for the Distillery Door only. Clyde’s been developing this on and off for a couple of years now, and we’re proud to finally release a pink gin that comes close to his exacting standards. Main botanicals apart from Juniper being, Rhubarb, Ginger & Vanilla.
A word of warning if you’re used to a lot of other pink gin’s, this one isn’t sweet. Think more like a lovely dry Provence rosé wine. Try pairing it with FeverTree’s Aromatic Tonic, a premium lemonade, or muddle with berries and your favourite tonic.
Until 2nd May, as a Big River Family member, you can buy it for only $77 - usual price $80. Please contact the Distillery directly at firstname.lastname@example.org or 0490 038 457 to order, or you can get it from the Distillery Door directly.
As much as we loved the original George Rose design on our Canberra Dry Gin, we found it difficult to transfer that design to other styles in our range. So began a 6 month process of designing a new label that retains aspects of the original label that also brings a commonality to the rest of our current range and any future spirits.
For the design we enlisted the help of designer Matty Johnson who’s worked with some of the biggest liquor brands in the world as well as craft distillers like ourselves. His designs have been inspired by Japanese simplicity and minimalism, and with a touch of Nordic rune inspiration for our new logo.
We hope you like them as much as we do! Please let us know what you think.
As we transition over to the new labels, there will be for a limited time at the Distillery, stock with the soon to be ‘collectors item’ old label.
And for the final piece of news from us at Big River Distilling, we’d like to welcome 2 new additions to the team; Reuben & Mandy. Reuben’s come on board to help Clyde with the production side of things and Mandy is our new Distillery Door Manager. You’ll have to be lucky to see Reuben behind the scenes, and Mandy will be the new smiling face you see when you visit our Distillery.
From all of us here at Big River Distillery, thank you for being a part of our family, and we’ll be in touch again soon with more news.
Think Big. Go Big.
