2020 End of Year Update from Big River Distilling Co.

Firstly from all of us here at Big River Distilling we’d like to thank you for following us on our journey through the year that was 2020, and we’d like to raise a martini glass to you for best wishes in 2021!

2020 has been both a challenging year and an exciting year for us at Big River Distilling Co. With the shutdown in March and the Distillery Door having to temporarily close it was a good chance for us to look to the future; how to keep delivering quality spirits, how to make it easier to access our spirits, and how to offer you more options.

With that in mind, we’re now in more venues than ever (check out the Store Finder on our website for your nearest Big River retailer), we’ve got a great range of new products in mind for release next year - bear with us as we like to take our time making sure the recipe is up to our high standards before we let you at them, and we’ve got a new member to our team to help keep us delivering quality spirits, Josh Stacey.

2020 was the year of the release of our inaugural Fig Gin Liqueur, made with fresh black figs from Hundred Acres Produce, sourced at the start of the shutdown. We’re down to our last few bottles, so best grab some from our online shop or the Distillery Door before it’s all gone.

With a lot of events cancelled this year, when they did eventually start it seemed like everyone was champing at the bit to get hold of some Big River goodness. Gin Palooza was a great success in both Canberra and Sydney. It was rewarding to see the reactions on people’s face when they tried the Cinn Gin & Dry Ginger Ale for the first time - it’s certainly going to be our go-to drink over the Christmas period!

The Big River team is very excited to share with you what we have planned for 2021, so stay tuned and stay curious!
